A REVISED design for a 150m (164yd) long section of viaduct on the approach to HS2’s Curzon Street station in Birmingham is to be submitted to Birmingham City Council.
A light installation, designed by artist Liz West, will introduce colours to the steel truss Curzon 2 bridge.
Made of weathering steel, the 25m (82ft) high structure will be assembled before being launched into its final position, 17m (56ft) above ground over a Victorian brick viaduct.
The deck width of the new structure has been increased by four metres, allowing it to accommodate three tracks, and the truss has been designed to wrap around the viaduct, forming a visual connection with the girders of adjacent structures.
