BLACKPOOL Brush car No. 634 arrived at East Anglia Transport Museum (EATM) at Carlton Colville, near Lowestoft during November.
Final commissioning of the 1937-built car, which carries the distinctive black and white ‘Terror Tram’livery (similar to the‘Terror Train’all over advertisement it carried for Coral Island in the 1990s), had been due to be undertaken by owner Fylde Transport Trust in Blackpool, but suffered setbacks due the Covid-19 pandemic. Restrictions at Blackpool
Tramtown, part of Blackpool Transport’s wider Rigby Road base which is currently being redeveloped, have also had an impact.
This prompted a decision to loan No. 634 to EATM for the completion of commissioning and testing and subsequent use as part of the museum’s operational fleet.
The tram arrived at Carlton Colville on November 14 and an electrical survey, which included checks of the lighting and compressor circuits, was carried out on the same day.
