RARE ‘07’ ACTION AT THE ROUNDHOUSE: Barrow Hill’s annual Rail Ale Festival ran for three days, May 18-20, but train rides were only available on the Friday and Saturday, albeit a very unusual working. Immaculately turned-out ex-BR Class 07, Ruston & Hornsby 0-6-0DE No. D2996 (07012) was in use on the two-coach Springwell Branch shuttles, as seen on May 20.

THE Bluebell Railway held a members’ day and AGM at Horsted Keynes on June 3. Journalist and TV presenter Nicholas Owen rededicated ‘ED’ Class 73 No. E6040 (73133) The Bluebell Railway (RM May p83), at Sheffield Park station after it was positioned by ‘Gronk No. D4106 (09018), due to it having a brake fault.
Class 33 No. D6570 (33052) was on display in Sheffield Park running shed, and ‘Thumper’ No.1305 displayed and running at Horsted Keynes.
