‘TEDDY BEAR’ STARS AT KWVR’S ‘RODZ DAY’: Class 14 No. D9520, visiting the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway from the Mid-Norfolk railway for the June 23-25 diesel gala, was in operation on June 3 during an event billed as ‘Rodz Day’. This featured some of the KWVR’s diesel shunter fleet running in tandem. The ‘Teddy Bear’ heads an Oxenhope-Keighley train beside the River Worth near Ingrow.

THE High Speed Train set which resides at the Nene Valley Railway and Railworld in Peterborough is due to make its preservation debut on July 8-9. A fish and chip train is planned to operate on July 8 (booking in advance essential) – and the following day will see the vehicles launched into traffic, operating four round trips of the line.
In recent months 125 Preservation’s vehicles have been undergoing preparation for their return to public service. Work has included fitting extended footboards, necessary as NVR platforms are set back 6ins to accommodate Continental rolling stock. The boards can be unbolted, should the vehicles need to travel over the national network in future.
Both ex-East Midlands Trains powercars have regained nameplates, the replicas being supplied by Cut and Build Limited. No. 43045 once again carries The Grammar School Doncaster AD1350, while No. 43060 is named County of Leicestershire.
