Work progresses on Glasgow 1245 restoration
Hopes that double-deck ‘Coronation’ tram will be almost complete by the end of year.
THE four-strong volunteer group working on the restoration of Glasgow ‘Coronation’ tram No. 1245 at Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life in North Lanarkshire, believe that it could be virtually complete by the end of the year.
Work on the tram has been taking place at Summerlee over the course of the last 12 years, and the last 18 months have seen steady progress, helped by a grant of £22,500 from North Lanarkshire Council.
