A TEN-week project, which began in March, has been ongoing at Glasgow Central to replace the tracks and other work alongside platform one.
After lifting the track, teams of engineers have also removed the concrete slab track and wooden sleepers at the southern end of the platform and installed new chairs and rails. Within the project’s scope, signalling cables will be renewed, the buffers checked and cleaned and improved tactile paving installed on the platform face.
The work has been running in parallel as the major track layout changes at Carstairs to keep disruption to a minimum.
