THE Caledonian Railway at Brechin is running a diesel service on the following dates: July 8, 15 and 29, and August 12, 19 and 26. Trains will be hauled by locos drawn from the main line loco fleet departing Brechin at 11.00, 12.20, 13.40, 15.00 and 16.15 (no return). Trains depart Bridge of Dun at 10.15, 11.35, 12.55, 14.15 and 15.35.
A diesel gala is set for August 4-6, but the only details available are the fares. Note, public access is not allowed at any time to loco sheds and areas, workshops or on to the track/lineside. DIESEL HAULAGE: The Bodmin & Wenford Railway is running a number of diesel days on selected Saturdays this season. In use will be Class 47 No. 47306 (D1787) The Sapper in Railfreight Distribution triple grey livery and Class 50 No. 50042 (D442) Triumph in BR large-logo blue with black roof. The first day, advertised at short notice, was April 22, with further dates being June 10, 24; July 15, 29; September 16, 23, and October 28. Class 47/3 No. 47306 The Sapper worked the first B&WR diesel day of the year on April 22, and is seen departing Bodmin General with the 14.50 to Bodmin Parkway.
