After an absence of several years, a full line photo charter was held on the Nene Valley Railway on September 7 with visiting GWR ‘Saint’ 4-6-0 No. 2999 Lady of Legend hauling the railway’s impressive freight train. Organised and run by the railway, the hot day saw full use of the line between Peterborough and Yarwell Junction. The Great Western Society-owned locomotive is seen heading away from Wansford on the third run past of the day.
