Blue Talyllyn approaches completion
THE overhaul of Talyllyn Railway’s (TR) Fletcher, Jennings 0-4-2ST No. 1 Talyllyn, which was withdrawn from service in June 2018, is entering the final stages at Pendre Works. The chassis was largely complete at the end of August, and the boiler, which received attention from TR volunteers employed at the Mid-Hants Railway’s Ropley works, is back at Pendre for completion with a hydraulic test anticipated in mid-September and is likely to be in the chassis by the time this issue is published.
