CLASS 20 No. 20228 moved under its own power for the first time in preservation at the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway (GWSR) on September 3. Paired with sister No. 20137, it ran round the yard at Toddington. It will soon make its preservation debut, running in BR blue.
Prior to arriving at the GWSR in December 2020, it had been undergoing a 13-year restoration at Barry, South Wales. Originally BR No. D8128, it was exported to France in June 1992 along with Nos. 20035, 20063 and 20139, for use by CFD (Compagnie de Chemins de Fer Départementaux) as No. 2004 in a distinctive white and orange livery.
