PATHFINDERTours’second seasonal excursion for the pre-Christmas period will see a pair of Class 33s work well off their former stamping ground when, on December 9, they are due to visit Chester.
West Coast Railways will be providing the motive power for the‘Chester Christmas Cromptons’which starts at Eastleigh and takes an interesting route via the Severn Tunnel andWelsh Marches to the popular Roman walled city.
Calling at Southampton, Romsey, Salisbury, Warminster, Westbury,Trowbridge, Bath Spa and Filton AbbeyWood, passengers will have the option of alighting at Shrewsbury for a break of around five hours, or they can continue to Chester for a three-hour break where the annual Christmas market will be in full swing.
Fares are £129 for standard class adult seating, £70 junior or £496 for a party of four. First class seats are £185 adult, £145 junior or £720 for a party of four, while premier dining seats are £299 adult, £259 junior or £1176 for a party of four.
