PKP Cargo No. EU07 1516 at Bialystok in eastern Poland on July 22, with train IC143 to Krakow which originated in Mockava, Lithuania with connections from the Lithuanian Capital Vilnius. Bialystok station is being rebuilt with a new overall roof under construction (on left) as within a decade it should be a key part of the ‘Rail Baltica’ plan to build a high-speed line from Poland to Tallinn in Estonia.

POLISH national long-distance operator PKP Intercity (PKP IC) runs substantial numbers of extra trains during the July and August summer holidays, some running overnight with sleeping cars.
