None of us here at RLW had any inkling when we commissioned an interview with Bradford Bulls joint captain Heath L¹Estrange that the Bulls would be fighting for their very existence as a club before we could publish it. We hope that by the time you read it, the Bulls will have found a way to secure their future. Jon Wells has his say on the crisis on page 14.
A club enjoying much happier times is Huddersfield Giants, due in no small part to the contribution to the team of our cover stars this month, Luke George and Leroy Cudjoe. Dave Hadfield catches up with the two best mates from the Galpharm Stadium who also brought a real sense of fun to our cover shoot, as you can see!
Secret Speccie runs the rule over Headingley, home of the Champions and Robbie Hunter-Paul asks if clubs are too quick to pass judgement on their coaching staff following Saints¹ decision to part company with Royce Simmons. Plus, we investigate why Hull Kingston Rovers threatened to move west to the KC Stadium before securing the redevelopment of Craven Park and Catalan Dragons star Ian Henderson talks to us about his career.
Beyond Super League, we speak to Swinton coach Steve McCormack about the pressures of juggling three jobs as he also takes charge of the England womens¹ team and guiding Scotland towards next year¹s World Cup. Dewsbury Rams star Austin Buchanan answers a quickfire round of questions and we look at the mutual ambitions of the three Cumbrian clubs in Championship One, Barrow, Whitehaven and Workington.
As the grassroots game begins its groundbreaking switch to a summer season, we launch a brand new section of the mag dedicated to bringing you the very best coverage of the game beyond the professional ranks, starting on page 58.
On the international scene, we chat to Mighty Mal Meninga about his plans to secure a seventh straight State of Origin win for Queensland, and we discuss the latest news on the Rugby League World Cup.
