Barrow-in-Furness-headquartered James Fisher & Sons, a historic company which was founded in 1847, has taken delivery of the 6,000dwt dual-fuel tanker Sir John Fisher. She is the first of two similar ships ordered from the China Merchants Jinling shipyard in Yangzhou, China.
The second tanker, to be delivered later this year, will be named Lady Maria and both ships will be operated by James Fisher
Each of James Fisher’s new dualfuel tankers, including the recently delivered Sir John Fisher, have been equipped with LNG tanks on their main deck forward.

Everard (JFE) alongside existing tonnage. Their LNG deck tanks and LNG-burning main engines, coupled with a centralised waste heat recovery system, will allow them to achieve a 45 per cent reduction in carbon emissions, as well as a 93 per cent reduction in NOx and a 45 per cent reduction in SOx.
