The French operator’s figures for its financial year from November 2021 to October 2022 reveal strong performances on routes from England and Ireland to Spain, but there was a fall in traffic across the English Channel to French ports.
Passenger numbers from Portsmouth to Caen-Ouistreham, St Malo and Le Havre, together with Poole-Cherbourg, were 35 per cent down at 1,226,262 passengers compared to 2019, the last comparable year before the start of the Covid pandemic. Brittany Ferries chief executive Christophe Mathiau revealed that overall volumes were also down 35 per cent, to 1.22 million passengers.
