Taiwan’s Wan Hai Lines has taken delivery of Wan Hai A07 and Wan Hai A08, which are the first two vessels in a new series of 13,100TEU container ships it is having built by South Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industries.
The twin vessels, which have a maximum cruising speed of 22 knots, measure 335m by 51m, and will sail on a loaded draught of 16m. All are being equipped with full-balanced twisted bulb rudders and pre-swirl fins to enhance propulsion efficiency and meet the highest level of requirement for Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) phase III standards.
