KRISPEN ATKINSON
TANKER
Furetank, the Swedish products tanker operator, has added two further orders for tankers at China Merchants’ Yangzhou Shipyard. The order takes Furetank’s commitment to the series of 18,000dwt vessels, known as the Fure-V or Vinga class, to six ordered this year.
These latest contracted vessels will enter service in late 2024 and early 2025, seven years after the first in the class, Fure Vinga, which was subsequently sold to Canadian owners, was delivered to the Donso-based operator. These orders are the 14th and 15th units in the class, which are split across Furetank’s partners in the Gothia Tanker Alliance.
