Marella Celebration has finally gone for breaking.

MARELLA CRUISES
After a long period of lay-up in Greek waters, Marella Celebration has finally been towed to Turkey to be broken up, under her final name, Mare. Built by Chantiers de l’Atlantique at St Nazaire in 1984 as Noordam, she was one of a pair of ships for Holland America Line which had a quite revolutionary appearance for the time.
With a gross tonnage of 33,930, she could accommodate 1,340 passengers as built. She remained with Holland America until the end of 2004, when she was chartered to Thomson Cruises. She was renamed Thomson Celebration but retained her Netherlands Antilles registry until 2008, when she was re-registered at Valletta.
