TAIWAN SHIPS WATCHERS
The first of a new class of amphibious assault ships for the Republic of China Navy has begun sea trials. The future RoCS Yu Shan (1401) is the first of four 10,600-tonne landing platform docks being built by the stateowned China Shipbuilding Corp, as part of a national shipbuilding programme to improve Taiwan’s defensive self-sufficiency.
