Pentalina came into the Pentland Ferries fleet in 2008.
The founder and owner of PentlandFerries, Andrew Banks, has announced the appointment of Helen Inkster as managing director of the company, which uses the catamarans Pentalina (2008/2,382gt) and Alfred (2018/2,991gt) to link St Margaret’s Hope, South Ronaldsay, Orkney with a Scottish mainland terminal at Gills Bay in Caithness.
Helen rejoins the company working with Orkney Ferries, where she was the ferry services manager. She first joined Pentland Ferries as a student working as a summer customer service assistant almost two decades ago.
Andrew Banks commented confidently: ‘Under Helen’s leadership, Pentland Ferries is in very safe hands. Now I am taking a step back from day-to-day operations, but will continue to chair the board and provide input at a strategic level, but will enjoy having more time with my family and to devote to other interests.’
