Is it Snowbird Season Already?

At the time of this writing, the temperatures were hovering around 30°C (86°F) and the summer RV season was in full swing across Canada. While planning for the snowbird season may have been a distant thought for many enthusiasts, we were creating content so that when the time comes to plan for the colder months, you’ll have a good idea of where to go and what to see.

After two years of strict travel restrictions to the U.S., it was no surprise to learn that many snowbirds will once again visit a long-awaited southern destination. With ideal climates, fresh scenery, and plenty of outdoor recreation to enjoy from around November to April, it’s an ideal choice. Florida, Texas, Alabama, Arizona - to name a few - are all popular hot spots.

We also learned that many RV parks in BC, specifically those in the Lower Mainland and on Vancouver Island, are planning for another busy snowbird season. Destinations like the Parksville area on the island or Agassiz-Harrison and West Vancouver on the mainland all have some of the warmest winters in the country.

With a number of services and activities available all winter, staying north of the border also provides the opportunity to discover new, fascinating experiences without having to afford added travel or living expenses. Plus, if you reside in one of the Western Canadian provinces, you don’t have to travel very far while still being provided with unparalleled scenery and true Canadian culture.

Regardless of where you plan to spend the winter months, remember to reserve earlier than later. This will not only ensure that you can stay at a preferred destination but enjoy everything you want to see and do once you’re there.
