Ever been stuck on how to form a stitch? Wanted to know more about how to use it? Or even explore its history? The answer to these questions and more could be no further than a few clicks or taps away. This September the Royal School of Needlework launches their biggest legacy project to date: RSN Stitch Bank.
Timed to coincide with the start of the charity’s 150 th anniversary celebrations, this new initiative takes a leaf from the Millennium Seed Bank at Kew Gardens. Just as the Seed Bank holds stores of all known seeds, so RSN Stitch Bank aims to become the world’s largest repository of stitches, conserving and preserving every stitch from around the globe in digital form. Happily, there will be no charge for end users. Access will be free via the dedicated website rsnstitchbank.org
