HERE COMES THE FLOOD
A solo dice game by James Wallis
Words by James Wallis | Artwork by Daniel Pettit
This is a good game for shutins with families: there’s a fun maths element that kids enjoy but parents should still find challenging. You can play through it as a group, or take it in turns and see who does best.
YOU WILL NEED:
A set of six polyhedral dice (d4, d6, d8, d10, d12 and d20)
A copy of the table, if you don’t want to write in the magazine
A token of some kind to track rounds
A pen
THE GAME
You are Noah, and that’s great. You’ve just finished building the Ark, and it’s been epic, a hundred and twenty years of resource-allocation and worker placement like some giant Uwe Rosenberg game measured in cubits and smelling of gopher wood. It’s takensuch a long time that you’re six hundred years old now, but it’s done and it’s great and you’re all feeling really proud. Your three sons and their wives have been rounding up pairs of animals and getting them on board, and everything’s going really well.
