HISTORICAL PASTIME
I’m winding back the dials of the time machine this month and visiting one of the earliest board game publishers. John Wallis started his game publishing career in 1790 when he and Elizabeth Newbery published The New Game of Human Life – the board game that later became The Game of Life. Their products were sold under the name ‘Original Juvenile Library’ and Elizabeth was bought out of the business in 1801. The business was finally sold in 1843 to the publishers Grant & Grifiths.
