Rosa Sepple Madonna (In Prayer), mixed media, 11╳ 71⁄2in (28╳ 19cm) at the RI exhibition, Mall Galleries, London
Founded in 1831, this year sees the 206th annual exhibition of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours (RI) at the Mall Galleries in London, from April 6 to 21. The original aims of the society remain unchanged to this day: to promote the best in watercolour painting and to show non-members’ work alongside that of members. With such a mix of artists, subject matter and styles, the exhibition promises something for everyone – from traditionalists to those looking for more innovative work. A series of talks and demonstrations by RI members has been organised to take place throughout the exhibition.
