I have always drawn and painted horses and, while I also paint architecture, cityscape and figurative pieces, the horse is the subject that I return to the most. I am fascinated by, and study, equine anatomy, movement, mythology and history. The range of ways and sports in which humans interact with horses, the various breeds, the different tack (saddles and bridles) used for specific purposes, the way horses are part of our landscape, all give huge opportunities for observation and painting.
