David Taylor shares his techniques for achieving spontaneity, light and atmosphere in watercolour paintings

David Taylor began his career in etching with a sixyear apprenticeship at the North Melbourne College of Printing and Graphic Arts. He is a fellow member of the Victorian Artist Society Australia, an honorary life member of the Watercolour Society Australia; and a member of the Australian Watercolour Institute, the Twenty Melbourne Painters Society Inc, and the Australian Guild of Realist Artists. He has won many awards for his work, which is represented in public and private collections and he has also judged many national and international exhibitions, including the Shenzhen Biennial Watercolour exhibition and Shanghai Zhujiajiao International Watercolour Biennial exhibition.
