Over 200 recent portraits will go on show at the Mall Galleries, London, for the annual Royal Society of Portrait Painters’ exhibition in May. The society has devoted itself exclusively to the art and development of portrait painting since 1891 and the annual exhibition always includes work by both members and paintings selected from the open submission, ensuring a good mix of styles, media and subjects. Famous faces and celebrities will feature alongside more personal portraits, showing all ages and sides of human life. The exhibition reveals the popularity of commissioning painted portraits by individuals and institutions and provides the perfect place to start if you are looking to commission a portrait yourself.
