Do you have a passion for performing? Would you consider yourself a creative person? If so, a career within the creative and performing arts sector may be your cup of tea.

WHAT DOES IT INVOLVE?

Various job fields fall under the umbrella of ‘creative and performing arts’ including craft, cultural heritage, design, music, literature, digital art, and the performing and visual arts. Although this may sound intimidating, it shows that there are many jobs that you probably haven’t even heard of, meaning that this sector isn’t just for those who are extroverted. You could work in the limelight as an actor or author, but on the other hand you could be more ‘behind-the-scenes’ as an agent or editorial assistant.

Raw talent is a prominent factor within this sector. That being said, it’s often not enough to rely upon your talent alone. A qualification is crucial for some roles; plus competition for jobs can be tough so work experience is vital. An apprenticeship can therefore be a great starting point.
