Co-ordinators News

Exciting times!! We made a few small changes to the last issue and even more to this one too!! - and - we have already received a lot of positive feedback through your emails and phone calls. Our aim is to provide a magazine that meets the wishes of as many of you as possible, so your feedback is valuable to us especially if it is constructive. We have of course to balance the requirements of the majority against those of the few, but all feedback is welcome and will be taken into consideration. At the same time, it has to be said that we have no intention whatsoever of going down the ‘porn route’ as it simply is not us or what we stand for. We are now finding that we are gaining younger members/ readers and feel that we need to move into the 21st century and move with the times. Younger people on the Trans scene tend to have different tastes to those of the members/readers who have been with us over the 38 years of our existence, so we are aiming the features and articles to appeal to a broader spectrum of readers, hopefully providing something to everyone’s taste.

As you will see in this Issue, we are delighted to announce Nina as our Miss Transliving this year. She is young and vibrant and already showing great support for Transliving. She is a queen of the social media, letting her followers know about our group and its events. If all goes well she will be attending Sparkle, so come along to our stall to meet her.

Since leaving The Magic Theatre, Sophie Lincoln has created the stunning charity-fundraising Glitter Ball. The event runs twice a year at The Rivoli Ballroom in Crofton Park. It’s impossible to overdress at The Glitter Ball so let your creativity out and come and have fun!
Discovered by RuPaul’s Drag Race legend Latrice Royale, hip-hop trans artist Epiphany Mattel has big dreams. She aims to create a movement; something similar to Neyo and Kanye West, where other artists might create similar songs that sound like hers, but fans will always recognise it as an Epiphany Mattel joint.

I have been a DJ for over 30 years (yikes! I did start young…) and have played at gigs all over the country and abroad, from private parties to large clubs and special events. Last year I DJ’d at the Sparkle opening party at Via, and most people will know me as DJ Lucy London.

“I had been really dysphoric about my facial hair for the longest time, and as I’ve just started transitioning recently - it is one of the things that needs to be taken care of as soon as possible. When I heard about Premier Laser & Skin Clinic and their affordable services, I decided it was the perfect time to give it a go. I visited the clinic in Soho for the first time for my initial consultation and was greeted with welcoming smiles.
Lots of people ask us how to deal with the beard-shadow showing under their foundation. You may have found yourself in a situation where you have created a beautiful face but you can still see the beard-shadow under your foundation. No matter how close a shave you achieve it still seems visible.

There are more than 70,000 vulnerable children in the UK care system, yet there is still a national shortage of adopters and foster carers. This means the children in most need, who have had a traumatic start to life, wait even longer to find a home where they can feel safe, secure and cared for.
So many crossdressers / T-girls will tell you that at some point in their lives the need to dress will either increase or decrease. But no matter which way it goes, we all have our ways of coping with the desire. In my case the feeling was on the decrease. For whatever reason, I just hadn’t felt in the mood, and I admit, it was beginning to play on my mind.
I’m Nina Jay and I won the title of Miss Transliving International 2018 at Eastbourne in March competing against 18 other lovely girls. Sadly there can only be one winner and yes this time it was me. It was also their 10th anniversary event which made it feel even more special.
I am a 34-year-old FtM from Miami Florida. I currently reside in Macon Georgia with my wife Lupa Brandt who is also transgender. I knew I was a boy from a very early age and was attracted to all things male. I was taken to therapist after therapist to find out what was wrong with me. None of them knew anything about transgender back in the 80’s, so I was constantly misdiagnosed.

I have always been intrigued by transvestites and transsexuals; I guess you could say it’s the one constant thing that has been with me throughout my entire life. Despite this, for most of my life, it always felt so wrong, no matter how strong the feelings or attractions were. Things really changed for me last year following the death of my mother. This hit me like nothing else had ever done before. It made me realise how short life was and how it could be ripped away in an instant. On top of losing my mother, I was having a very difficult time at home and work.
