Dear Folks,
Some of you are already aware of the gist of this letter, but I thought it might be useful for me to share something about myself with my friends and fellow chess players in the club. It is based on a letter I have written and distributed to my neighbours in Robertsbridge, as well as to all the shopkeepers and staff in the few shops that remain in Robertsbridge High Street. (Talk about nailing your colours to the mast!)
What I want to share is that, now Jenny my wife and companion of 40 years has passed away after seven years battling Multiple Myeloma, I am of course missing her hugely and my emotions are sometimes very near the surface, but there is a positive side for me, which is that I feel free to be open about myself - in fact to ‘come out’ at last.
