The Elephant March
Two years of perfecting safety measures have gone into translocating 520 elephants in Malawi. In August this year, they reached their final destination. The #500Elephants initiative was undertaken by African Parks to ensure the species’ long-term survival by removing them from areas susceptible to human-wildlife conflict. The epic proportions of this project have attracted BBC and CNN coverage, as well as a visit from Prince Harry (above).
Participate in conservation
The famous Lewa-Borana Wildlife Conservancy in northern Kenya is inviting guests to participate in their invaluable wildlife conservation efforts. For one week commencing 24 February, guests can be part of the ranger team helping to locate and count game species for the annual Big Five wildlife census and to track and ID rhino at Borana.
