Recent Mojo Lifetime Award-winner Joe Brown celebrates six decades in music with the 60th Anniversary Collection, a boxset that takes in his stellar career from the very early days through to his current project, Brown’s Home Brew. Multi-instrumentalist Brown has recorded a wealth of music across varied genres, from Leadbelly blues classics, Golden Gate Quartet gospel songs, 30s standards and instrumentals, through to country, country-blues and, of course, rock’n’roll, all present here. This all-encompassing 12” boxset features six full albums of material curated from across the timeline, including plenty of lesser-known cuts, outtakes, demos and unreleased tracks on six CDs, as well as a live DVD, hand-written journal, 48-page hardback book of photos, three card inserts of early posters (including shows with The Beatles and Johnny Kidd And The Pirates), a multi-coloured cloth patch and a Joe Brown Anniversary plectrum. Phew!
