I Love Rock’n’Roll: Wanda Jackson teams up with Joan Jett on her next album
The legendary Wanda Jackson is back in Nashville working on a new album, which is currently anticipated for a 2019 release. Her producer this time is none other than Joan Jett. There’ll be original songs too – Jackson has been co-writing with Nashville songwriters including Angaleena Presley of the Pistol Annies, Ex’s And Oh’s singer Elle King is contributing a song, and four-time Grammywinning producer Vance Powell is also onboard. Powell also assisted on Jackson’s 2011 acclaimed collaboration project with Jack White, The Party Ain’t Over, which peaked at No. 17 in the US’s Top Rock Albums charts.
“The songs on this project are very dear to my heart, as a lot of them are based on my own life experiences”, says Wanda. “I’m really looking forward to sharing what Joan and I have been working on.”
