The twin-cylinder engine used to be a great protagonist of the gearbox categories from the very origins of karting to 1987, when it was banned for a series of not entirely clear reasons. The best specimens, in 1987, delivered nearly 50 HP. Today, they’d be putting out 65, versus the KZ’s 45 HP.
