INTERVIEW
The last of the supporters
Low in “retirement” after a long stay as Vice President of the International Karting Commission, we have involved the authoritative Kees van De Grint in a careful analysis on the promotion of international karting.
CLOSE Up
Marijn Kremers
Marijn Kremers, “Mario”, is a driver who distinguishes himself for his innate talent in being aggressive. It is true, sometimes it was a bit his “cross”, as in Genk in 2018, but above all his “delight”, as in the World Championship in Lonato that he recently won. Mario is one of those who, in one way or another, if he has to overtake you … he passes you. Yet this was not the X-factor that allowed him to win this year’s world championship, but rather his cunning. A cunning with which he was able to keep Adrien Renaudin (Sodikart) behind when the latter was considerably faster.
RICCARDO LONGHI
Riccardo Longhi, “Ricky”, is a driver who has always been found ready when needed. As he revealed to us, every race risked being his last and he knew how to make it a virtue. It is true, he has often been unlucky, but his hunger for results has never changed. See Lonato. With time, another beautiful quality in Longhi was also discovered: that of mechanic and coach. Alongside the sparkling Cristian Bertuca, he took an important Top 10 at the Junior World Championship, a category in which Bertuca made his debut.
ANTICONVENTIONAL EMILIEN
The International Supercup KZ2 launches one of this era’s best talents into orbit. Emilien Denner is the most unconventional driver of KZ2, here’s why.
THE PRINCE OF LITHUANIA
With the dream weekend in this last appointment in Lonato, the young Kajus Siksnelis enters his name in the Academy Trophy’s record books.
RACING
SUPERSHOW!
The Rok Cup again leaves its mark reaching the maximum consensus with the Superfinal of Lonato. Impressive participation (419 drivers representing 49 nations) and a great show once again marked the Vortex-branded event. Alex Powell (Mini Rok), Daniele Federici (Junior), Cristian Comanducci (Senior), Marcel Prokscha (Expert) and Paolo Baselli (Expert Plus), Domenico Cicognini (Super Rok) and Luca Bosco (Shifter Rok) are the 2019 international champions ready to challenge each other in America next month for Rok The Rio.
GRAND FINALE
“Crackling” season finale for the Easykart movement that celebrated the International Grand Finals in Siena.
DD2, AGAIN THE MOST COMPELLING
On the eve of the sixth and decisive round for the awarding of the AMC title, the championship standings still have several unknowns. In particular, in DD2, with Zamir, Pieris and Harris in close contact. Variable weather conditions and a wet track made the result even more uncertain.
WET FINALE
The 2019 BNL Karting Series season came to an exciting close in the latest chapter, even with the wet weather not dampening the drivers’ spirits
ZOOM
GO GREEN GO FAST
We were invited to try out the new Birel Art electric karts on the track, proof of how our world is also aligning itself with the trend towards zero emissions: primarily designed for the Rental world, we cannot yet foresee what developments we will find in the Racing sector. The vehicles and the performances reached are top level, a sign there is a considerable potential for growth - even if we are only at the beginning of a path that will take time.

RISING STARS AND FALLING STARS
The 2019 season ends by bringing to the archive a few certainties and other surprises that, presumably, will also be reflected in 2020.
FROM KART TO F1
The LAST STEP
Established under the name of GP2 Series in 2005, and later renamed Formula 2 in 2017, the F2 is the antechamber of Formula 1. Numerous changes have occurred in its 14-year history.
LEGENDARY KART
Vettel's Mythology
In recent months Sebastian Vettel has jumped into the headlines not only for his deeds and vicissitudes with Ferrari in F1, but also for having expressed his point of view regarding karting promotion policies, no longer as favorable as when he raced in karting when most kart drivers could afford to live an important experience with the possibility of aiming high, without having to invest exorbitant amounts.
LEGEND
From missiles to karts
Bill Van Tichelt graduated from the San Luis Obispo campus of Cal Poly in 1956 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering; he was 21 years of age. Up until then Bill was involved with racing motorbikes which he had both modified and prepared. Upon graduation Van Tichelt went to work in the Research and Development Department of the Frebank Company in Glendale, California. While there Bill led the design and development of a snap action mechanism for a pressure switch that was utilized by NASA in the production of the Saturn V launch vehicle.
