There’s a lot to be said for the team. Individual players can be as gifted as you like, but it’s only when all parts of the whole work together that results can even start to approach their potential.
And that’s just as true in hi-fi as it is in sports. Just because a product has earned five stars from What Hi-Fi? doesn’t mean it will match perfectly with another top-ranked piece of kit. Things, as is the way with this world, are somewhat more complicated than that.
