From new advances in photography and futuristic communicators to cloud-like beach comfort, here are four new innovations that will enhance your future globetrotting adventures

What: Insta360 Nano

How much: £199

We predict 360-degree cameras will revolutionise travel photography much like GoPros did for adventure sports. The Insta360 Nano camera is designed to connect with iPhone 6 and later models, turning your iPhone’s screen into a viewfinder and allowing live streaming and oneclick sharing to social media. The camera also works when separated from your iPhone so you can attach it to a helmet or tripod and then transfer the footage later. The dual lenses shoot at a silkysmooth resolution of up to 3K at 30 frames per second and it takes still photos too, of course. The 360-degree video can be used on virtual reality headsets or use the camera’s packaging to make your own cardboard VR headset. It’s seriously tiny too – weighing in at only 70g and measuring 110mm long, yet boasts a battery life of 100 minutes, making it the tiny camera that can.

Peruvian model-turned-chef Franco Noriega is one hot dish in the food section, and we welcome our new columnist Cameron Laux, who will be sharing the ins and outs of being a gay dad over the coming issues. In our travel pages, we’re following our hearts to San Francisco and getting back to basics in Namibia, while the travel theme continues in our bumper style section with stylish shoots from Suriname, Israel, Vegas and France. All of this, within bigger and better sections dedicated to people, travel, style, business, home, fitness and culture. Be upstanding, Winq is the luxury lifestyle magazine for gay men.
