{UP & COMING} FADY ELSAYED

The sky’s the limit for rising star Fady Elsayed who has lit up the screen in films like Brotherhood and My Brother the Devil, and recently joined the world of Doctor Who in spin-off series, Class

London-born actor Fady Elsayed caught the attention of many for his role in the acclaimed film My Brother the Devil. His gritty portrayal of Mo, a young Egyptian immigrant caught up in crime as his older brother deals with his sexuality, saw him nominated for Best Newcomer at the 2012 London Film Festival. Elsayed, who’s half-Egyptian himself, says, “That’s the film that really put me on the map as an actor and I believe is the reason I am in the position I’m in today.” His life could have taken a different turn, however, as he was a keen sportsman growing up: “From a young age, I’d always known that I wanted to be something big. Initially I thought it was going to be football; I had always dreamed of becoming a professional footballer. I was always very good at sports,” he says.
