Looking for a half-marathon PB this autumn? Here’ s how the other half run…

Just as spring and autumn bring the best opportunities for marathon bests, these are also the seasons for running a good half, either as a warm-up or as a standalone event (particularly if you don’t have time for marathon mileage). If you’ve had a good marathon or half in the spring then training specifically for a solid half in the autumn is a great confidence boost going into next year’s preparation and, for some big races, could also offer you a qualifying time in a faster wave. For example, you can qualify for a Championship spot at the Virgin Money London Marathon by running a sub-1:30 half before the qualifying date (check virginmoneylondonmarathon.com for details as they’re confirmed).
