These days, for whatever reason, I am finding it increasingly difficult to find novels that I actually want to finish.

That being the case, a modern novel that I have not only read once, in 2016, but gladly read for a second time, over the recent Christmas break, is certainly a bit unusual. Such an author deserves, I think, a column to himself. Ben Aaronovitch is the author, and his publisher (mostly) is Gollancz.
