Foyle Young Poets of the Year Award, the UK’s biggest writing prize for young writers aged 11-17, is open for entries for this year’s competition. This year’s judges are Malika Booker and WN Herbert.
Each year 100 winners are selected. The top fifteen winners are invited on an Arvon residential course or receive mentoring from a professional poet, and their poems will be published in an anthology. The 85 commended poets will have their poems published in an online anthology. All winners are invited to a prestigious awards ceremony in London on 6 October, National Poetry Day, and receive youth membership of the Poetry Society and a goody bag full of books and other prizes.
