Plotting and planning are all part of being a writer. We all need notes, research and idea generation, and these days that’s less likely to mean a paper trail and more likely to involve digital files of some sort. Keeping track of things is as much an issue online as it is in realtime.
For many of us, the nearest we get to a system is a new folder on our desktop or perhaps more usefully, in a cloud-based storage system. In this folder we dump everything relevant to our project: notes, photos, various files of chapter plans, drafts, you name it, pretty much everything apart from the kitchen sink.
