The monthly free-to-enter Spinetinglers short story competition gives five writers the opportunity of newsletter, website and social media publication in addition to a £100 prize for the winner, £50 for second prize winner and £25 each for third, fourth and fifth prize winners. The top story will also be published in an anthology.
Submissions must be no more than 5,000 words long and to submit a story you will first need to register on the website. This will enable you to become a member and to read the stories of past winners which will give an idea of the kind of story that makes a winning entry.
Spinetinglers Publishing was set up in Co Down, Northern Ireland in 2006 ‘by writers, for writers’ and in addition to the short story competition offers publishing packages and review and author promotion services.
