East London’s Writeidea Festival 2016 is running the East London Writeidea 2016 Short Story Prize, which is aimed at writers who have not previously been published.
The competition is for short stories up to 3,000 words, in any form and any genre. There is a first prize of £300, and four runners up will each win £50. Prizes will be awarded at the Writeidea Festival on 13 November.
There are no particular formatting requirements, but all stories must be original and unpublished, and should be typed. The writer’s name must not appear on the manuscript. Send stories as attachments (doc, docx, pdf, rtf, txt) by email. The submission email should include details of name, address and a contact phone number. The email subject line should be ‘short story competition’.
