Jennifer Moore’s fi ction has appeared in numerous publications on both sides of the Atlantic, including the Guardian, Mslexia and Short Fiction. She is a previous winner of the Commonwealth Short Story Competition and was the lucky recipient of last year’s Writing Magazine Iceland Writer’s Retreat prize.

Adventure follows Jasper and me everywhere we go. We call it ‘adventure’, anyway. Mum calls it ‘trouble’. ‘Boys and their invisible friends,’ she says, sighing loudly and rolling her eyes like the cleaning lady in our favourite PC Potty cartoon. ‘Nothing but trouble.’ Charming!
