Entries are invited for the 2018 New Welsh Writing Awards, which this year will be awarded for an essay collection.
Entries should be between 5,000 and 30,000 words and consist of a minimum of two essays. The winner will receive £1,000 as an advance for ebook publication by New Welsh Review under the New Welsh Rarebyte imprint. Literary agent Catherine Summerhayes of Curtis Brown will critique the winning work. The second prize is a writing course at Ty Newydd and the third prize is a weekend stay at Gladstone’s Library. All winners will receive a subscription to New Welsh Review.
Format manuscripts as pdfs with numbered pages, double-spaced in 14pt font. The writer’s name must not appear on the manuscript. Include author name, manuscript title and word count on a separate front page.
