Poetry is the perfect medium to capture a brief moment in vivid detail, explains Alison Chisholm
What is more gripping than a detailed journal?
What is more visual than a photo? How can a memory be brought to mind with startling clarity? How can that memory live for someone who wasn’t there at the time? How can an emotional situation be communicated without sentimentality? The answer to all these questions is, of course, poetry; and Gillian Dunstan of Tipton St John, Sidmouth, Devon, demonstrates the point in her poem.
