All registered Thoroughbreds celebrate their birthday on January 1. This year, it also marks a birthday for Young Rider. Here at your fave horsey mag, we’re celebrating our 25th anniversary. That’s a LOT of posters we’ve printed, and a lot of bedroom walls we’ve decorated! And most importantly, a lot of young riders we’ve helped to take care of their horses and ponies and improve their horsemanship. Maybe even a few future equine vets are reading YR right now! That’s a career many of you are interested in, so for this issue, YR sent photographer Shelley Paulson out on the job with Dr. Marta Powers to share a glimpse of what that’s like.
