It seems that birthday traditions are disappearing as, according to a poll by Betty Crocker, 27% of Brits admit they no longer mark theirs. The average age to stop celebrating turning a year older was just 28, and 30% of the people polled said birthdays ‘should be enjoyed by younger people’. A spokesman for Betty Crocker, which is using the research to highlight its ‘I Cake You’ campaign, says:‘Birthday celebrations shouldn’t stop once you reach a certain age – baking a cake is a heart-warming gesture, and will always make someone feel special.’.
